Unfortunately, the only thing that has really ever gone terribly wrong with my car is the transmission as well; twice now I'm guessing since it had an '02 torque converter in it. I'm so doing a 5spd swap the next time the transmission decides to self-destruct.

before you spend time and money on fluid. do a pressure test. with more accurate description of problem, it might be a broken internal hard part and not a hydraulic problem.

BINGO!

It was the filter clogged up! Put a new one on and threw in 4 qts and everything is fine now! No more noise and it shifts much better now as well maybe cause I put a new solenoid in as well. Maybe it was a combination solenoid not working good and clogged filter.
There was not that much metal in the pan and the magnet had a bit on it but not what I call too much.

Man sometimes things just go my way...oops cept for when the pan let loose it all went on my chest but none in my face..

There you go! Not a whole lot of time or money, and all better. Those are good days!

An automatic transmission fluid change is never complete without about 1/4 or more of the fluid ending up on you, LOL. Glad to hear it's back up and running.
