Default Well my sxt might be a toast!

I knew the day would come sooner or later. I was hoping for another yr with my sxt . But with over 180,000 miles on her anything can happen. I broke down on the way to my husbands work and pushed her to get there without breaking down. Engine light came on and seems like hopefully a sensor or fuel filter or pump but could be worse. Hopefully we can make it to a autozone sometime tommorrow if we can get her home tonight. All I can tell you guys is she jerked alot and went down in speed and backfired alot. Might be lookin for a new ride sooner than I wanted. Might be parting her out if she is toast.

My neon did that all of a sudden after hitting a bump.. turned out the connector on the MAP sensor (on the intake passenger side) was loose.

Thanks isa might have my husband check that out hopefully its something that easy . Not ready to give up my sxt just yet and I was suppose to go to a carshow tommorrow guess I will have to make it to one next week. my husband did mess with the spark plugs and wires so might be that also he checked on how good my plugs were they now have 30,000 on them and they looked ok to him but have had my msd wires for like 2yrs. Really dont wanna believe shes broke forever seeing the 20th of this month is when I will have her for 6yrs. Been through so much with her shes like my best friend and won 8 trophies with her and shes number 2 on cardomain now.

Well my husband had no idea where the map sensor is and he drove it home and had no problem. My engine light came on monday and all it was the gas cap was not on tight so I doubt the way she acted today with me that is the problem again . Husband unhooked the battery and the light went off lets see if it comes back on . he messed with the plugs and wires again.

MAP sensor stands for manifold air pressure. I've never had to look at mine on my car but chances are it's on the intake lol.

Mine did a bunch of weird stuff like that when the battery went bad. Jerked, kicked down, CEL came on...

My battery is a red top optima just got it last yr so Im hoping I got her fixed. Looks like all the problem was the horn shorting out . Unhooked that and all is well for now. Just got to look for a cool horn somewhere. Not your normal horn too.

OK?

Getting a good Optima is a crap shoot. Don't rule it out without testing it.

Husband has a battery charger and he has put it on and has alot of charge in it but will take it out and put it on again and let it charge it. Seeing she has had a short for awhile might need a little charge.
