Default error code 51 - 2004 dodge neon sxt

Hey guys, i've been lurking around the forums for quite a while, this is my first post though. Some of the tips and suggestions have really helped. I have a2004 dodge neon sxt with 114000 miles on it, yesterday i was trying to finish some errands and noticed that i was low on gas but i was short on time so couldnt stop for gas and continued for about two three miles, reached home and stopped. In the evening i got back in the car and filled it up with gas and noticed the engine light was on, i did notice the error code was 51, but i did top up the tank, how can i get rid of this error ?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

If you filled your sxt up with gas most of the time when the engine light comes on right after words means the gas lid is not on right or tight. might try that than see if your light goes off.

How did you come up with error code 51 on an OBD-II vehicle? Error code 51 is a PROM error for OBD-I vehicles...

Good to hear the problem went away!

Powdercoated "Snowflakes" or as some call them, "Mini-SRT" wheels. They came on 2000-2002 Neon's. You can usually find a set here and there on Craigslist for ~$100, 1/2 the time with tires.

just when i thought everything is alright.. a idiot "forgot" to yield at a traffic light and trashed the front left side of my car i had to get it towed now.. will have to call the other guys insurance company in the morning. called mine and told em about it.. i also called the cops and that guy got a ticket for it... i hope his insurance company provides for a rental car else im screwed..
