Default brake calipers question???

hello all, i am wondering about the dupli-color caliper paint, and if anyones tried it with the stock neon rims. i have a 2000 neon se, with the aluminum rims simliar to srt 4's and i was wondering about paint match the calipers to my car. jsut too add a little piz-zaz to the outside. any ideas about other options for caliper paint or is there a cheaper way to get blue calipers? thanks for any help i may get. and sorry if im doubling up on another thread about this.

I've seen it work very well if the prep work was done well, as well as having the needed cure time and temperature. It (the Dupli-Color kit) is not fairing so well on one of my cars because the temperature dropped way too much during the curing period. I have seen great results with it though. G2 paint is supposed to be better, but it also costs a bit more. Prep is the key, as it is with most things, and in this case since it is paint, the proper curing time and temperature. "If you haven't got the time to do it right, when will you find time to do it over?"

Yeah I would definitely make sure there is ample curing time, as I feel there is nothing worse than a half a$$ed job. Also what would be the best conditions to do it in. I have a garage, but it gets chilly now-a-days. So any tips hints or other advice would be helpful... Especially prep stuff

I just brushed on activated Centari, which is just single stage autobody paint.
Held up really good.
A decent paint with a catalyst(activator) will cure regardless of the temperature.
as it doen't rely on solvent leaving the paint that causes it to dry. its a chemical reaction instead.
you could get the colour code from your car and do the calipers in the same
most auto stores who sell paint to auto body shops can mix u a pint of your body colour

If you dont want to spend an arm and a leg on a pint of paint or that expensive caliper paint they do have spray can caliper paint for like 5 or 6 bucks in different colors and the paint I got was only like 5bucks .

Best conditions? Warm temperature where it is dry. Heat the garage up for a day? Prep for painting calipers- clean, clean and clean with brake cleaner.

-All I can say is degrease the crap out of those calipers and use high temp paint. I haven't done this since the late '80s, so I'm not too sure what they have out there paint wise anymore.

Had my brakes changed not to long ago and my high temp paint is still like new on there so not all spray paint is affected.
