My 05-SX2.0 dodge (4-Auto) power-train & perforation warranty will be expiring on 12/22/10. I had problems-1) hard shift at 20 while accelerating & 2)car took hiccup just before stop, 3)car jerk strongly when move gear stick from P to R or D. First dealer said "no problem found" then I took him to test drive with me and able to show him the problems. After that, they changed two oxygen sensors, new plugs & cables, service & replace the PCV, injector flush, software flush & reload and charge me a lot because were not covered in transmission/power-train warranty.
After that problems 1 & 2 significantly reduced, but still I can feel light jerks of gear shifts from 1-2 or 2-1 while driving, but not most of time. The problem-3 still there, but Dodge dealer said it's normal. I wonder what will be dealer's diagnostic report after warranty expire?

Problem 3- Broken torque struts and most likely motor mount. Wear and tear items.

Problems 1 & 2- Have they simply changed the fluid and filter?

 

Oh yeah worn out motor mounts will do more than you think they would sounds like thats your problem . drove me crazy in my 04 auto sxt. Having bad motormounts effects so much.

 

Dealer changed transmission oil/filter about 2 months before. I will ask to check motor mount.

 

Theres like 4 motor mounts . My husband changed the upper lower and middle the tranny one was not worn at all. Now mine is better than normal.

 

As far as Dodge is concerned, there is 1 motor mount, 2 torque strut mounts and 1 transmission mount. Go in knowing about what you are asking them to do. If you go in prepared and use the correct terms (i.e.-they know you know what you are talking about), they are more likely to correctly fix your problem and not jerk your chain...because you aren't going to know any different anyways.

 

I think most know if you say check all my motor mounts please I think they know theres only 4 so they would check all 4. All the autoparts stores have them as upper ,lower, milddle and tranny in the computer so I think thats what dodge has them as also. Im just so lucky I have a husband who will do all my work for me for my neon. I dont have to take it anywhere to get taken on anyways like some fix it places do.

 

"Please, I think they know there's only 4?" Really? Who said there were more? There is only ONE motor mount. Be ignorant. Fine by me. Take the bottle of KY with you wherever you go then. God forbid someone educate themselves about something. You have someone to do the work for you. Great. How does that help anyone else who doesn't? You know why people, mainly woman, get taken advantage of with anything to do with cars? Because they have the same attitude as you; they believe they don't NEED to know. "Whatever. I think they know how to fix it (they do, you don't, that's why you get screwed over) and I don't think they would charge me for something I don't need nor would they talk me into something I don't need, or it just doesn't matter because I've got my husband to do the work for me, so, like, whatever." Your opinion on what you believe other people think does not help anything. Usually, such as in this case, it makes it worse and promotes ignorance.

 

they use the same info on there computers as any autoparts store at least around here . Cause I called everywhere lookin for the best deal in the last month for my mounts and all 4 dealerships around here have all the mounts called upper , lower, middle and tranny for everyone to understand when they install them or when they install them. Not all dealerships get technical about everything like you say . I have done alot to my neons and other cars and trucks over the yrs not just my husband. He just does most of the work now becasue I cant much due to my CARPEL TUNNEL in Both hands.
