15" wheels are just fine on a 2.0L Neon IMO. The bigger the wheels are, the more power it takes to move them.

WHatever I have 16inch wheels and some perfoamance mods and my neon is not at all slow. I would say 16inch is pretty nice size to be safe with if you want some performance.

dont go any bigger than 16's if your trying to keep performance.. i had 17's with the wheels tucked..like slammed...but def did make it slower off the line

Agreed. The 132 HP Neon is slow even with the stock 15" wheels. Need about 200 HP to 'feel' fast with these cars.

Typical response. God forbid I ever have a different opinion than you? The SRT-4 has 17" wheels...it also has a bigger engine with a turbo.

Not everybody that has a neon or srt4 is into the hp thing maybe we just like just having a nice ride that does very well with gas mileage. Im into the show thing not so much the racing thing. 17s are what almost every neon goes for no matter show or performance.

I just hate anything stock and 15inch are stock and 16s are more agressive lookin and not overdone like 15s and 17s.

Since the person who was asking the questions mentioned performance in addition, maybe that is something that should have been taken into consideration in your response? He doesn't just want show. Bigger wheels and tires wouldn't help gas mileage either, so there's two strikes. I've never heard of 17" wheels being the golden standard for Neons, ever. That'd be three strikes.

Now the "standard" 17" wheels are overdone, so why get them? The OP wants looks and performance. Bigger wheels and tires on an N/A, low horsepower, 4-cylinder car is NOT the way to go for performance. That's fact. Period.

Just look around at tire places online and locally and go from there. I got 16s on my sxt only cause everyone at shows were going with 17s and bigger. I have me some srt4 acr bbs to put on my sxt in the spring sometime and the suspension. Alot of neon guys and gals I know are running with 17s and 18s and some have turboed non srt4 neons.

I understand that people run 17" and 18" wheel and tire combos, but for what the OP wants, I personally don't think those sizes are what he should be getting is all.
