Default Light dimming.

I have an aftermarket stereo, and speakers, and I'm wired for subs. So I used to be able to run any volume without power problems. Now I'm at volume level 10 and any higher than that, my stereo will shut off. When teh stereo is on all interior lights are dimmed with just that.
So my thoughts are that my alternator is going out. I just want to verify before I buy a new Alternator.

Have you checked engine ground resistance?

after you check the ground, measure the output of the alt (when running you should see close to 14V)

You can always have your alternator checked at an autoparts store for free thats what I did with mine and my sxt was doing what yours is and it ended up being my alternator was fried.

You use a multi-meter and measure resistance on the ground wires. The lower the better.

I just took her to autozone, and had them pull the codes, they told me coils and misfire.

I think I sucked up some water with my CAI (please, no one start an arguement) but yea, I think that caused the misfire for sure.
