Darthroush, what I said was perfectly fine, however your response to 22DODGE22 was a bit out of line. YOU are a MODERATOR. You should be willing to help people out regardless of their grammar. If you are dissatisfied with the wording of someones question or post, then you should have the decency to request that he individual re-word the question or post. All he had was a simple question. Master Tech had no problem reading the post and attempted to provide an answer.

I worded my last reply incorrectly, as to who I was talking to; too many screens open. I'm not going to change it; it was entirely my bad (I am however going to change the certain words in both of our posts to comply with forum rules). The middle part should not be in that reply ("You call me a "****" and then post something like that? Very good.") That was from editing my first reply. I apologize to 22DODGE22 for the mis-reply on my part. However, as we all know, caps indicate YELLING on forums, so his reply wasn't exactly saint-like towards me.

Okay then, I apologize if I also misread your reply. I understand the all CAPS issue, but still denying him your assistance simply because of that still seems silly.

22DODGE22 isn't the one asking for help though.

I tried to read the OP's reply twice, and I just can't get it together into a cohesive statement. I'll give it a go, a few words at a time, if that'll make you happy.

Automatics do that. If you apply near or full throttle, it will hold the gear longer. That's what they do.

after that the other gears shift high are not at all sometimes unless you let your foot off the gas then push the pedal back down.
If I am understanding this correctly(?), it is the same as above.

also if you give it gas between 3/4 and full throttle it acts like it hit rev limiter and just revs up till u get off the gas a little any help would be great thanks in advanced. changed the filter and fluid with atf4 to see if that was the problem but did not fix it. also disconnect battery for 24 hours and did not fix it either
I'm not really following, but I'm just going to suggest something in the mean time. Have you rechecked the fluid level following the procedure outlined in the owner's manual? I changed the fluid and filter in my car a few weeks ago, and the level was fine after I filled it up using just a bit less than the amount specified (so I didn't overfill) for a fluid and filter change. Lately, it has been slipping out of gear and down-shifting very hard. I re-checked the level last night, and there was a single drop on the bottom of the dipstick. I added what I had left at the time, about 2/3 of a quart, and it is already doing better. I have one new quart I bought today that I will use to top-off the level when I can check it again tomorrow.

The hydraulic units have an adjustment that should be done on occasion as well. Perhaps yours needs this done?

Disconnecting the battery won't do anything for the transmission, even more so for a hydraulic unit.

If you can clarify some of your post for me, I can try to help you out a bit more.

The caps was not for yelling, it was showing a difference in meaning with emphasis, so the words were not lost in the context. Seems like some growing up and maturity is needed. If I would have use would vs should, the point would have been totally lost withing the statement. Next time I'll use pretty colors so you don't feel as if you're been scolded and try to protect your fragile ego. I suppos that using caps for th in 31th offended you too?

Sorry did not mean to cause a fight here. When i got the car it would not shift past 25mph i would rev up but no shift and when comeing to a stop it would stall.no check engine lights 1. i replaced the filter and fluid. after that it ran and did not stall but then would shift gears at 4500 and 5000 rpms instead of 2500. 2. i pulled the valve body and cleaned it. put it back together and did the same thing. I went to the salvage yard got a valve body out of another 2000 neon with 74kmiles. put that in. after sticking it in the car ran and would not shift unless i released the gas pedal for a second hen it would shift and i could go back on the gas. i disconnected the battery left it sit over night and the next day took it for a ride. same thing. stopped at the store cam out and it ran fine as far as shifting. BUT you give it a little gas feels like it barely wants to go. push it a little farther takes off like a rocket. dont know what gear it is but when your going around 60 65 it stay around 3000rpms when you hit 70 75 it shifts. leave off the pedal just a bit to stay at 70 75 it down shifts and back to 3000rpms again. could this be a tv cable? can you adjust it are does it get replaced? THANKS FOR THE HELP IN ADVANCED

Usually italics are used to emphasize a word so there isn't that confusion. Use colors if you like; might make it a bit more appealing.

As I mentioned, there is an adjustment procedure. Download the '00-'02 FSM in my signature, find the transmission section, and perform the procedure.
