ok i have a 2000 neon when you are on the gas from stop it shifts outta first around 3000-3500rpms unless you leave off the gas pedal it will shift sooner after that the other gears shift high are not at all sometimes unless you let your foot off the gas then push the pedal back down. also if you give it gas between 3/4 and full throttle it acts like it hit rev limiter and just revs up till u get off the gas a little any help would be great thanks in advanced. changed the filter and fluid with atf4 to see if that was the problem but did not fix it. also disconnect battery for 24 hours and did not fix it either

 

Do you know which transmission you have in the car?

 

Being a 2000, it should be the 31TE (A413)?

 

not sure i do now well i think it is a 4 speed 3 spd n overdrive could be wrong it is shifting by itself now but it shifts hard to each gear and a little higher then its supposed to and seems not to really have the get up and go less you give it little less then half pedal. if you give it little less then half pedal takes off like a rocket

 

also its fine with full throttle now if you give it full throttle it works fine any suggestions would a TV cable do this>?

 

The 4 speed wasn't put into Neon's until 2002. Other than that, I can't understand what you typed because there is absolutely no grammar and half of it doesn't make sense, and I refuse to try to read it that way.

My sister used to have a neon around that year and just after she sold it the tranny blew out. I would just recommend putting it on craigslist before you have any further problems with it. Neons have never really had the best transmissions anyway.

 

31TH there's NO E (electronic) 3 speed transmissions. And it WOULD be a 3speed, not SHOULD. There were only 3 transmissions offered in Neons for 2000, Automatic 31TH, and 2 manual transmissions. before Feb 2000 vs post Feb 2000. 1st,2nd, 4th and 5th gear ratios were different.
