No, it's when people make up stories that are total fabrication passing off as reality then make up a bunch of BS to support bogus claims just to satisfy their egos. Even the Mod said you are wrong.

I call shenanigans unless you can PROVE what you claim is true: "used springs will wear out the struts faster"!!! You made the statement so prove it.

I call em as I see em. If I hurt your feelings so bad that you can't tollerate (sic) it, oh well. Don't be so sensitive, I was picking on you anyway. And if you don't want people to mess with you, then DONT BE SO F*ING RUDE!

Well so whatever I never made any story up it happened to me with my old vehicles not my neons so bugoff. Now Im just warning icon to make sure his springs are in good condtion to use them with new struts. Darth knows more than me but seeing this has not happened to him than he cant tell me Im wrong. Until something has happend to you you cant really tell me Im wrong. I agree with icon dont be so rude.

Yeah used springs will wear out faster if they are crap when you put new struts on them all Im saying . Rusted and wore out yes they will be bad for new struts. All I was trying to tell icon. Thats why I always go with new stuts and new springs or this time coilovers.

Ok folks, unless anyone has any detailed technical papers or charts to conclusively prove this argument one way or another, then we're done here. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

"The shock absorber handbook" by John C. Dixon

I know the author, I've talked with him many times. Thats how I can stand behind my statements

Everyone knows if your springs are wore and rusty and crappy its time to get new springs so putting new struts on with no good springs makes no sense at all. Just check your springs to see how good they are before putting new struts on with your stock springs is all Im trying to get across. cause my springs were crap rusted after I had new struts on for 6months and made my new struts crap that was on my cobra stang yrs ago.

That's a way better approach than the BS. Yes shot springs will damage the strut from bottoming out. But used springs don't wear out struts/shocks any faster than new springs.

Ok ya'll (22&Show), you've said what you have to say, let's agree to disagree. This went from a good, informative debate, to plain old bickering. No hard feelings, water under the bridge, yadda yadda yadda... this is getting old. Show, I believe you're telling the truth about your experiences, and can see the sense in what you're saying. 22, I can see your logic and that you demand more documented evidence to support any claims made (which is a respectable trait), but your abrasiveness is detrimental to gaining any support in any given argument. I can tell you're a smart guy, just chill out a little. Also, if you don't want to add your opinions to my threads from now on, that's fine. Just know that I was only being playful and trying to lighten the mood. My friend request stands.
