I think they call it the TRS on the Neon? If so, yes. Manual says it's on top of the valve body.

ok so once i take that pan off there shouldnt be anything else in my way? also the plug that connects to the trs doesnt grab the safety clip i can just pull it right off.
also btw to update u on my 00 neon with no spark... all wires are good all sensors were replaced along with the pcm( put old one back in cause it still works) the auto electric guy working on it can only get it to strt with the cam sensor unplugged but wont run long. any ideas on that?

The valve body will have to be removed AFAIK. The TRS sits on top of it. As for the other thing, bump your other thread. I can't remember what specifically was going on.

It's not "hard," but you have to be very, very careful. There are springs and little check ***** (can't remember the correct name ATM) that can fall out. If they aren't in the correct place, the transmission won't work correctly if at all.

Whoa!!!

Before you go tearing into the trans, what leads you to thinking you need to remove the switch? I have never seen one of these go bad (except for the temp sensor part of this assembly).

There is a lot of things you MUST be careful of. You have to completely remove the valve body to change the switch assembly. when you pull the valve body, you'll have 2 accumulators (little aluminum pistons) and 2 or 3 springs fall out as soon as you drop the VB. there are NO check ***** or valves to worry about.

But again, before you tear into this, lets hear the diagnosis that's leading you to necessitate the replacement of this part!!!

ok a coupleof months ago my gf was gunna start her car to leave and it made one click noise. (this stuff happenex before i.was with her) they replaced the starter and the problem still happens here and there. it happened to me a few days and theres no loose.grounds or connections from the battery to the starter. to get it to start after that i shift it to neutral then back to park and it works. the problem rarely happens and when it does it still starts 2 seconds later
