Default Before i get neck deep

Before i get neck deep in an engine swap i have acouple questions. I've been on the internet reading forums and what not about swapping an srt-4 engine into an r/t. I've read that i can keep my stock tranny so if there any truth to that. Otherwise im going to get everything from the srt-4 and drop it into mine. Computer, engine, fuel system components, the works. I also would like to know if there are any other little things i should do while going about this. I read i can use my stock motor mounts and is that true or do they need altered. Also if anyone has real experience with this anything you encountered that someone doing this should know would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all

Search for "srt4 swap." It'll bring up pages of threads asking the same questions. The info is there.
There is also info in the FAQ thread in my sig.

yes you can keep your r/t tranny seeing your r/t is a 5 speed just like the srt4 and I would get some agp dogbone mounts . Thats what Im getting when I do my turbo swap. They are way better for traction and less wheel hop.

Yeah, you can keep your transmission. Heck, you could keep the crap auto's if you wanted...probably wouldn't last too long though, lol.

We will see how long my auto srt stage3 swapped turbo will last if I go through with it with over 200,000 miles on seeing Iwant to be as fragile on her as possible if I want her to last awhile.

Why put in a stage 3 SRT engine into your car and then drive it more gentle than an 80 year old lady in a Caddy? I already know the answer...I don't know why I ask anymore. If you aren't going to "use" the engine power, your auto will probably last just fine. If you one day to decide to actually drive the car, I don't see it lasting too long. These things go out with an N/A 2.0L engine...

I was saying Iwant to be as gentle on my sxt now that she has so many miles on her and was debating if I should turbo her or not seeing a turbo would be harder on her with that many miles on . I already have alot of engine mods so I should be happy with the hp she has already.

If you change the engine, it won't have that many miles on it? I thought you were doing an engine swap now, not a turbo set-up?
