Default exhaust???

Ok so I was thinking about taking my exhaust off after my cat is that a good idea? I know you can get cut outs and stuff like that but I was just wondering if it would mess with the back pressure at all or even cause a loss of power instead of a gain?

I wouldn't do it, especially on a street car.

out of curiosity, why would you want to just take it off after the cat?

Because I was thinking of running side pipes to where they come out right in front on the rear wheel but not sure if that's a good idea

Having a side-exit exhaust is different than removing everything after the cat.

Side exits are pretty cool and rare on a non srt neon. Two of my local srt4 friends both have side exits on there srt4s and wow are they loud and mean sounding. Im thinking of doing a side on my sxt when I go turbo soon .

i'm planning on doing a side exit exhaust on mine and yes, i would use mufflers especially if you have to pass a sniffer test.
