Question Cheap Ebay mufflers any good?

I was checking out the cheap mufflers on Ebay and they seem like a good deal. $30-$60 for a stainless steel 2.5" in 4" out muffler with removable silencer? Seems too good to be true... here's what I'm looking at http://motors.shop.ebay.com/__?_from...w=srt4+muffler

Any opinions on these? I'd really like to get a high flow muffler for my SXT, but I don't want to waste my money.

why not go for a glasspack? you can't get more high flow than that.

Yeah get a srt stock exhaust pretty cheap 150 or under in price and add a glasspack which is under 50 bucks .Those exhaust on ebay are crap I had one on my 96 a dtm dual tipped ebay exhaust and it was ok but those single cans can be bad.

Damn, that sounded pretty nice! Thanks for the advice, I'll just hold out and save up for an SRT exhaust and a glasspack then. Any recommendations as to where to buy?

I used to have the same setup as showsxt, but went back to stock. 31" Red thrush muffler with srt dual chrome pipes. It sounded really good, just a notch louder than a stock srt4. Gave it more power too...but changed back to stock due to my wife. I'll change it over again sometime laters, but for now just running it stock.
I have 2 srt chrome pipes, too bad we live far apart.
Look thru craigslist and ebay to get a good deal for the srt dual pipes. If your lucky, you can find one at your local salvage yard. Have fun!

Yes ebay or craigs list for a stock srt exhaust and glasspacks also. THeres also amazon.com. I now have a borla catback with my 31inch glasspack way better than the stock srt I use to have and just painted it a flat black also.

Hmmmm.....ok. I've been doing some reading here, and according to this guy (who seems to know everything about neons) a stock SOHC system would get no more benefit from an aftermarket muffler than it would from a stock DOHC twin outlet muffler. Anything better would be unnecessary unless I did some pretty heavy modding to the intake system. All I'll be doing is adding a CAI.
If this is accurate, then I think I'll go this route since it would be cheaper. Plus there's a 1st gen DOHC at a junkyard near me. I noticed it while I was out there today and actually took a pic of the muffler to ask opinions because I noticed the twin outlet (I forgot to bring my camera to work or I'd post it now). And if I'm not mistaken, all neons are 2 1/4" pipe from the cat back (not sure about SRT4s), so it should fit.
I'd like to get a glasspack and get a nicer sound, but if I'm going to get all I need to open the stock exhaust with a DOHC muffler, then why spend the extra money?

When I got my stock srt exhaust I just had an intake now I have every engine mod but when I had just the srt exhaust and glasspack and intake didnt hurt my sxt a bit and thats just one guys op I know alot of sxts that have the srt on without any mods but an intake. They just do it for looks mostly thats what I did at 1st than I got the borla for the mods I went with.

Right on show. I don't think he's saying it would hurt anything. I think he's just saying that on a stock engine, anything more than a DOHC or SRT muffler would be overkill. Tomorrow I'm going to post pics of the muffler I found at the jy so ya'll can see what I'm talkin about with it. I figure, it looks the same size as mine, but it has two pipes coming out whereas mine only has one, so it seems like it would have a better flow rate than mine. If I do go with it, I'll see how much a machine shop would charge me to dip it in a caustic soda vat to get it clean as new
