assuming its a trans solenoid and its probably installed wrong or the wrong part causing a huge leak wich generates no pressure thus the car not moving

well it is the right part because autozone and advance website say it fits both and its the correct model number.

there is barely some old gasket left from all the scraping done to the silver plate.

could that be the case? its installed right but there is an electrical cord above one bolt and its on but could it be causing the problem?

ok , is this the trans were talking about? if you put a "nick" or scratch in the metal where the seal or gasket is then its a good chance its not going to seal right and cause a leak. you have to be very very very careful not to dingleberry the sealing surfaces of such a fine instrument. is it a gasket or o-ring? it is possible that a o-ring installed cocked or gasket is broken in a place. many times with seals you can clean the area that is scratched and put epoxy on the sealing surface and install the part and seal and let the epoxy fill in the scratch.

if you put a scratch in the sealing surface its going to leak man. the only thing you can really do now is put epoxy on the sealing surface and install your part and let it dry for a bit and hope it works. the surface must be clean and dry first. if theres old gasket then it could be causing a bad seal but you never want to use anything to clean it that will put a scratch or groove in the surface.
