If it's only in a certain area, the defroster strip could be broken in that area.

The only way to repair that is to replace the window as the strip is embedded in the window. There is no replacing the strip.

It is possible to repair the rear defroster. But I don't think it's that easy. There is a kit to fix it with.

hey guys, yeah i read that from a few other places but i'm not exactly on how it works. something about applying masking tape that it comes with and putting conductive paint over the affected strips. can anyone that's ever tried it tell me if it's several lines do you paints each entire strip? seeing as how the kit comes with a very tiny bottle...

You paint over the broken part of the strip...on every broken part. If there are multiple spots, then yes, you have to paint every one.

Mine hasn't worked in two years. Not real worried about it though.
