Suspension Problem
I have driven 2 neon's and both have had the same problem. When you go over a bump you can feel a "banging" in the floor boards. I can also hear suspension noise in the back also. Has anyone had this problem? If so what is the fix? I am guessing ball joints but have no clue considering I am new to the neon. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!! I would really like to have a smooth riding car without the "banging" going on.
Could be worn ball joints, lower control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, bad strut top hats...
The car just needs to be inspected on the underside. Does the car get driven in the winter? If so, looking at your location, it is possible one or two things have rusted out.

Nothing is rusted. I figured if I counldn't narrow it down to one thing just to replace all the bushings and control arms with new ball joints just so I know it is all good. The struts are maybe 6 months old, they are pretty new. Hate to do all of that but maybe I should. Energy Suspension makes a pretty good master bushing kit maybe I will try that.
