I prob won't have it off in the next 2weeks or so, works gotten in the way again limiting my repair time to less then an hour nightly or less, after a 16 hour work day

Oh. Got ya. I looked at the manual and agree it looks like a bit holder with a torx bit.

So I did my trans fluid & filter change, yea I'm glad I had a heavy duty T25 these 2 screws were in super tight, a cheap tool would'a just stripped. But it definitely needed it, shifts so much nicer now when under higher rpm.

Also, is there an O ring or gasket between the strainer and valve body?

The car is a 2002 Neon with SOHC 2.0L 4 cylinder, probably most common power plant.

Thanks, Slim
I just changed the fluid and filter in my 31TH (A404) transmission in my 1999 Voyager (2.4L I-4) today. The filter was held in with two T-25 Torx screws, so it appears that "Tool L-4553" is just a heavy duty T-25 Torx bit.
