Default 2001 Neon Rough Idle

Hey Guys!

Ive been trying to figure out why my 2001 Neon rough idles and shakes. Steering wheel vibrates whole car vibrates and its pretty annoying. Car idles steady at around 700 rpm while in drive and still shakes but sometimes not as bad while in neutral. When you turn on the AC it gets worse. Car never stalls and always starts no problem.

Ive taken the following action so far:
1. Replaced IAC Sensor and cleaned throttle body with Cleaner.
2. Replaced Plugs and wires.
3. Ran seafoam through fuel system.
4. PCM isnt throwing any codes
5. Replaced air filter

Any ideas? I was going to replace TPS sensor next not sure if it would be a waste of money or not...Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
-Ryan

vaccum line leak & bad motor/transmission mounts made mine do this exactly, find your vac or pcv leak 1st, easier to find when it's hot weather and the bad lines really reflect their age. Mines a 2000, always garaged and all the lines were on their last leg.

Trans/Motor mounts will make the car shake in D/R/and park. They will also make the car seem as if it is running poorly.

2nd the above comment. Motor mount and trans mount cost 70 bucks with tax from autozone. Duralast brand and takes all of about 2 hours to do both. World of diffeence.

Mine did that right before my timing belt broke. Have it checked ASAP.
