Yea lowering it is my next project and i think it will look 10 times better when i do. It rides ok with the 18's on it but i did have a time getting them on because i had a tire that was 225/40/18 and i had to buy a 215/35/18 & now they fit great without a spacer. While we are talking about lowering it what brand of lowering springs is best? (coilovers are a little too steep for me so i will stick w/ lowering springs)

CleanNeon:
If your wife driving your car and f***in up the rims is a concern, stay with a 17" rim. Granted, it's not that much smaller, but with it being an inch smaller, you can run a slightly higher tire profile, give yourself a slightly stronger rim, and you can easily fit the rim on your car.
Also, with 17's...you could lower it on a Eibach lowering kit or bags....and you would still get the same profile.
Either way, it's going to look really good. I'd listen to Chase about the spacers though. It will definitely need them, and since this is being driven by more then one person, there is no telling how well it would drive/handle if loaded with 4-5 people for someone not used to driving it.
