Default ac evaporator core

I was watching soem "tech" videos online earlier and found one talking about mold, bacteria, and bad car smells.
Some talked about changing the cabin filter, and I found some which talked about the ac evaporator.
One of the guys said how much of a project it is to replace the ac evap..
I found another video that showed some cleaner you can spray into it to help "clean" it out.

Has anyone of you either replaced it or cleaned it?

Also whats the best way to remove my glove box I cannot get it to come out.
When pressing both side in, I can only get the right side to release

If your car farted, it's because molds, and bacteria colonies have built up in there. They like humid, and warm conditions.
You have to turn your heater on once in a while to burn them up. Especially in the rainy season.
Turn the heater on will not destroy them all of course. There are many places for them to hide in there.
There are cleaner products that you can spray in there.

New cars have cabin filters. I don't think our cars have those filters.

I have tried to remove the dash to get to the AC evaporate core without luck. They made of plastic, plus there are many bolts, and hidden clamps holding it.
Even if you can remove the dash, you have to be very careful when you in there. You don't want to mess up the airbags, wires, ... in there.
You know the shop charge a lot of replace the heater core, and evap core is because it take them long time to remove those.

The glove box is easy to come out. If I remember, there were only 3 bolts holding it.
You also have to remove the stereo, and cover.
It won't be easy my friend.

yeah our has no filter just a foam rubbery flapper, but what works well is lemon scent lysol, turn your outside vent on, med-high no heat and spray the lysol from the vent cowl intake. I've done this is all my autos for many years and it's done a pretty good job for the funk. We don't get much rain here in the desert but 1/2 can is what I use. You might try a whole can then let it sit over night and see how that helps.

it's under pressure but not flammable... + you're not spraying it on a hot engine or exhaust pipe ya know

Yeah those sprays work real well...

It's a big job to take the dash out, especially if you've never done one before.
