Exclamation is IAT resistor mod a good move for me? 04 SXT with SC

ok so this is actually for a friend he has an 04 neon SXT with a baxton super charger. he bought a resistor off ebay to do the IAT mod. however after doing some research and reading this
http://qcwo.com/technicaldomain/iat-...-vs-real-chips
im not sure its a good move. we live in el paso with constant 80+ degree heat and it seems like this wont be very effective. however i thought maybe his SC made him run lean so it might help. any tips? if you need more info just ask.

He could if he doesn't care about his motor. It tricks the computer into thinking it's pulling in colder air than it really is. Cooler air=more oxygen content. When you trick it, especially with a supercharger, detonation becomes highly likely. What is his fuel setup and how is he tuning it?
