not all aftermarket exhausts are loud. Many exhausts come with silencers, many ricers remove them or make their own exhausts from coffee tins ![Big Grin](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Also, don't get caught up doing ricer math (ie. taking the maximum possible gain any mod will do for you and just tacking it on to your car). You should do an honest dyno run both before and after you do some decent modifications. For me, numbers don't really matter. I'd like a nice car that can get me there, and doesn't give me any grief. Once in a while I'd also like to smack down a ricer or two to show them that they don't rule the road.
I too am a bit miffed that dodge pulled the Neon, I think it's a great car; especially considering that gas prices are still pretty high.
Anyways, have fun with your Neon, get what you can from it, remember that dodge is required to stock parts for it for at least 10 years.

You can do the intercooled Hahn turbo kit for about $2500. Or you can pick up used SRT-4 parts (manifold/turbo, intercooler, piping), SOHC-DOHC adapter from Matt, 1:1 regulator, WBO2, fuel control, 255 lph pump, and a few other odds and ends for $1000-1500 if you look around. A friend of mine from Mass recently turbo'd his 2003 SXT that way (with a Magnum head swap) and dyno'd well over 200 HP to the wheels, and that's on stock internals.
Why do people talk about the SRT-4 like it was a modern marvel? The Sprit R/T (2.2L 4-cylinder turbo) was making 224 HP from the factory more than 10 years before the SRT-4 was introduced... No gay basket-carrier wing either... and it weighed less...
The only SRT-4 I really, really like is the 1995 NYG Highline sedan with a factory roofrack (with an SRT-4 motor recently installed).
Best of luck!

there is no way you will get an r/t up too 200h/p without going forced induction. Techanlly it is possible but then you are talking alot of money way more than any turbo setup will cost. People think n/a is cheaper but in reality it is not if you are chasing big h/p numbers.
btw if you really want 200h/p put your car on the botlle that would be the cheapest way too get there
