Default RE: gauge cluster switch

You should be able to just get a cluster from a car that is the same year that has a tach. It should be just plug and play.

You will have to add several things, like a clutch pedal, clutch slave cylinder and master cylinder, shifter assembly and cables, and maybe a center console. Another problem you'll run into is doing away with the trans controller. Your pcm is not configured to a manual trans.

never really thought of doing it. i mean a buddy of mine replaced his 5 speed tranny in his wrx to a 6 speed but i never thought of how much work it would take to switch an auto to a manual. how much do you think it would cost to go about doing it yourself, after you had gotten everything and, would you need a same model and year. i mean i have a 2001 atx and would i need a 2001 mtx? can you guys let me know how to do it how much it would cost after pcm and everything like you said. thanks guys!

Manuals save gas and because of overdrive you can go faster so this sounds like a ggood idea.
