god buy or not
i am currently lokking at buying a 2000 Dodge Neon (SE) its the 4 door model it has a 4 disk CD changer sunroof 5 speed 70,000 miles and they are asking 4,000 O.B.O its bone stock as far as i know. i was wondering if this is a good price for this particular car. P.S. i spoke to the owner and this car is been owned by him for its entire life and was never wrecked.
That's actually not a bad price. I would of course have it looked at by a mechanic or a shop and have it checked out. Otherwise, it's not a really bad deal.
I will say that you should try to haggle it down to say 3-3500 however. If you have 3k cash....I'd offer him 3k.

most people will lower the price if you pay for it all in one lump sum with cash up front. It sounds like a good deal to me. Ask if you can take the car out for a drive or go for a ride-along to see how it drives at the very least. Take a peek under the hood while you're at it.
Well according to KBB a 2000 Neon ES with 70K, Sunroof, multi-disc changer, in good condition is $4,410 private party value, and $6,300 for retail...so it sounds like agood deal to me...but take it out for atest drive andhave a mechanic check everything out to make sure you wont get any suprises later on...
My 2000 Neon ES is making a lot of noise when I try to open the sunroof. Besides that it skips midway between opened and closed, forcing me to use my hands to help moving it out. It looks like there is a bad drive belt or gear mechanism that needs replacement.
I quit trying to use it for now and would like to know if anyone would have a diagram / part number or solution for the problem.
Thanks a million.

yeah i agree with everyone else as well. if you are not mechanically inclined take it to a mechanic to get it checked out. if everyhing checks out pay they guy one lump sum of cash and he is likely to come down on the price. good luck getting the car.

i payed 2,800 for a 2000 plymouth neon lx 5 speed 2.0 dohc with 4 disc cd sunroof... and it had 90,000 miles. mine came wiht aluminum 15 inch rims. what u found isn't a bad deal at all. have the guy u might buy it from go around the car and open all of the doors and the hood and trunk and have him look for a sticker that has a number on it and the stickers should look the same, if the stickers all match then it hasn't been wrecked, cus if they had to replace on of those parts, they couldn't replace those stickers
