Default strut bar?

does anyone have a picture of their neon with a strut bar, i was wondering because when i attempted to install mine, there was a plastic part attached right ontop of the hood that is in the way of the strut bar, does it have to be removed or is there a way around it? The plastic part im talking about is right where the windshield wipers are attached. Thanks.

my strut bar actually tucks under that a little bit...i tighten mine to the struts, and keep the tension bolts loose, then i wrap a rag around the bar, grab it with a pair of channel locks and pull towards the front of the car, then a friend tightens the bolts...it helps pull it away from the car a bit

ic. My strut bar is actually shapped like an arc so thats why it hits that plastic part i was talking about. The bar i have is not name brand really, i have seen the dc strut bars and they are bent already so they could fit easily, but mine is some brand called bomz and its suppose to fit my car but like i mentioned before it hits that plastic part so i wanted to see if there was a way around it. Thanks.

mine is a vibrant performance...the ony thing that i dont like about it is that i cant check the power steering fluid with it mounted, and have a hard time with the brake fluid.

To help access your vital engine fluids, they have quick connect and discconet bolts, much like the ones found on the front wheels of newer mountain bikes. As far as strut bars, yes they help but the factory rubber, bushings, and bearings are way to flexible and give too much for a strut bar to be effective. Polyeurothane bushings and performance struts would really benifit from a strut brace.
