Default Turbo

Can the stock srt-4 turbo kit be used on the sxt for 2004. Including the exhaust manifold and injectors. Is there anything else i would need other than a modified computer system for this. Can you use the srt-4 computer or can the dealer do and upgrade on the comp system.

As far as i know everything works fine, you'll need a DOHC to SOHC manifold adaptor, If you have an ATX you'll have some issues with the intercooler and piping, but if your MTX is should fit very well. You'll need a turbo timer and a fuel management system also, and the SRT-4 computer is basically the same as ours...i think it even includes NGC so you might as well just buy a piggyback system for better controls...

The fuel and spark curves are seriously different between the SRT-4 and the SXT. If you get the PCM, get the instrument cluster and ignition key from the same car and you won't have any problems with odometers being mismatched or the Sentry system. You may run into wiring issues (different harnesses?), but probably not to the same extent the 1st gen guys are when swapping in the SRT-4 engine. Some sort of service manual with electrical diagrams for both cars would probably be a big help.

Best of luck!

I was going to do the swap but decided to go the easy way and just order a stage 2 turbo kit from hahn for my auto sxt. Just as fast as a srt4 turbo. All autos should get this turbo. Cheaper also 2 grand.

You could run 8lb probably...just have to make sure your boost doesnt spike past 10lb and you'll be just fine...as long as its tuned properly!
