is it possible to paint a hood carbon fiber?
or is there something close to it?
if i was to take a silver hood and sand it down could i paint it to look like a CF hood?

 

yes you can paint carbon fiber, i have seen it done before, just not sure what you have to do to make the paint stick to the carbon but i have seen it done so i know it is posible

Yes you can paint a hood to "look" like carbon fiber, but its a hassle and a half. Lots of work involved.

They do however make colored CF now....so you could in essence do that as well.

Honestly, I wouldnt waste your time. Either order a CF hood from a place on eBaY...or online on one of those specials.....

 

they do make a af hood wrap... i think i saw it on ebay, but i dont know much about it but someone on this site might, if not just search for it because i know that it does exist.

 

Yeah they do make a hood wrap but, the only way to paint it to look like it is carbon fiber is to get it done profeesionally because I have not seen spray paint that could mimic the mulit color carbon fiber.

 

They do sell vinyl that looks like carbon fiber. Its not that hard to put on. There is no real way that you are going to paint carbon fiber on yourself.

 

i like CF hoods alot but im wanting to maybe spend less money for one
would it be hard to wrap it in CF material?
and im sure the material would cost you about 100+
but if you were going to do that to your hood wouldnt there be like a line goign down the middle from where you had to cut 2 pieces because im sure the roll isnt wide enough to do the hood in 1 roll downwards/across.
would it look the exact same as a Cf hood if you could do it good?

 

i believe that it is made specially for the hood,so there wouldnt be any lines.

 

Well it wouldnt look "exactly" like a real carbon fiber hood...just like the trim wrap they make for the interior of the car doesnt look exactly like real CF...but it looks pretty close...
