Default Brakes, what should i do?

I have been noticing a change in my brakes lately. They are horible, and barely perform to half of what they were brand new. I am fed up. I am also considering disc brakes on all 4s instead of 2 disc and 2 drum.

not to jack your thread but how expensive would it be to change the rear from drum to disk?

Well there are those 4-wheel disc haters that say rear discs dont do anything for your car and only provide an additional 20% braking power...but then again that is 20% more braking power...so if you can find a wrecked SRT or PT get the brake system off those. I loave having 4 wheel disc brakes and they look great also. If you cant find them, get some nice Powerslot Slotted Rotors and Hawk HP pads and you'll notice a night and day difference between those and your OEM's. At the moment i have some slotted/drilled rotors on the way for the race season and expect them to be great...but the slotted/drilled rotors arent the greatest for daily driver since they tend to get brittle.

Oh and it wouldnt cost much for a rear wheel conversion, maybe a couple hundred for everything...

I would just go for upgraded brakes. I wouldn't really bother changing the drums out in the rear. Just get better rotors and pads and you'll be set.

is there any way to upgrade to an ABS system because everytime it rains my car skids when I hit the breaks hard... if anyone pulled or walked out infront of my car on a rainy night there would be no stopping the car

get a set of drilled rotors, they've got vented holes in them that increase stopping power. Add to that the upgraded brake pads and you'll stop just fine. If you still have trouble with that, the problem is in your tires. Get a stickier set if you're that worried about it. Remember that you should be driving accordingly and weather conditions is not a legal defence in court. They'll tell you that you should have been driving slower to suit the conditions. I would start with a new set of brake pads first and then move on to rotors and tires if that isn't good enough.

that's more likely your stock tires. they pretty much suck ****.

as for the brakes, my buddy went thru all the work and effort to swap out his rear brakes on his '02 neon. after all was said and done, you couldn't even notice a difference. plus, aren't disc brakes heavier? why would you want added weight?
