Hi! I'm new here and a new Neon owner. I just got a 2005 SXT and am wondering how to take out the front headrests. Thanks!

 

im not trying to be critical but why would you take them out they are there for a big safety reason if you get hit from behind you could break your neck its like taking out the seatbelts

 

Sorry, I should have stated that the reason I want to take them out is to put seat covers on and then put the headrests back in. Actually, I'm trying to find out how so my husband can do it. I'd probably make a mess out of the whole thing.

 

o ok i actuall never tried i know on a lot of cars if you hold down the button so you make it go higher and lower it just slides out but im not sure if thats true for neons

 

There are two buttons to press... one on each pole. There is the one to move it up and down. The other is hard to see, but its there on the other pole. This one will release it to take it off.

no problem, its hard to see but its there... it sits flush. you'll never know its there unless you really look.
