Hey,
I just changed the oil in my 2002 neon and I put 5 quartzs in. Will this cause any damage or is it no big deal?

 

Just a little over not that bad. Just slap yourself on the wrist and be done with it. Next time get larger "Viper" filter and be happy with all 5 quarts. Also a Motocraft FL-300 will fit just fine and is less than $4 at Wlamart and is a great filter being PureOne but cheap on the wallet. Viper filter is FL842 which is just 1/2' shorter.
Be happy now.

 

Or go out and buy a Moroso oil pan with built in windage tray that will hold 7 quarts of oil and buy the Viper oil filter!
