Improve Car Acceleration When AC is On
Im looking to improve the acceleration on my car in general but especially when the ac is on I've noticed my car drives as if it has 10 obese people in the car. My gas goes down much more quickly too when the ac is on. I know its normal for the gas to go down faster when AC is on but is there anyway to improve this?
Thanks!

The only way to do this is to replace your UDP with a lightweight onem, and even then it wont give you that much power back...the stock Neon A/C is fairly powerful, and thus takes away a lot of power from the engine when its on...but you cant have it both way in a Neon. Its either comfort or performance.
I agree with 03neonRT. I have a AFX underdrive pully and it improved the power with the AC on. That was the most noticeable thing. Other than that, it doesn't really improve the performance with the AC off. It improves it a bit but it's barely noticeable.
well, one thing i was tought in any performance modification was that it just like the newtons third law of motion...(had to say it to sound smart!lol) for every action there is an equal or opposite reaction... what i mean is that, you may gain in one area, but in turn you will lose in another area. Thats why you really have to think out mods before you do them. I see it like this, you install an UDP and you gain because of the less force used to turn the other pulleys... but at the same time, the a'/c sompressor being turned at a slower rate reduces it functional performance... the underdriven alternator in turn reduces the output of the alt which can effect charging sytems, battery life, and maybe even effect the ignition system, which could lead to a loss of performance. Now, i'm sure it may not change these things in a drastic way, but you still gotta think "is this worth it?"

Dodge was also being a panzy when they made it so you need the specific tool to get the UDP OFF to begin with. I have been holding off on an UDP for the very reason that it can both give and TAKE performance.
My way around it....
dont use the AC! i just roll down the windows and cruise.

^^I agree, windows down is the way to go...but its not just Dodge, you need a pulley puller of some kind to get the crankshaft pulley off of any type of car.
