Default sound from engine

I have always had this constant clicking sound from the engine. I have heard the same sound from my friends stealth, is it a normal sound from dodge engines or is it something i have had checked out? My engine vibrates a lot too, but i have read something about checking the motor mounts. The car runs fine and smooth, its just when im at idle, that i hear that clicking sound and i could feel my car vibrate, i could see my hood and steering wheel vibrate aswell. But im more conserned about the clicking sound, does any one know whats that about? thanks.

For the clicking noise, i have it as well, it has been researched and discussed many times on a few different forums and no one knows why the engine clicks sometimes like it does...sometimes engine clicking can mean some serious problems, and if your really concered about it, take it to the dealer and have them do a full inspection of the engine...it will cost ya, but it will also give you that peace of mind.

I dont have much money to spend on just checking, so no can do on that. Its weird cause it runs fine and everything but that sound is still there.

guess so, i remember my friends dodge stealth had that aswell. I have one question that really doesnt involve what was talked about. What could like some "symptoms" or signs that tell you that you need to change your timing belt? thanks.

does it just do it when you're starting out or all the time?

Nope, the clicking noise happens to be all the time, its just that i cant hear it that well when im moving due to my intake making a louder noise than the clicking, and of course the clicking sound is at a faster rate when im in motion.

just sounds like yer injectors firing... there pretty noisy. Try opening your hood and listening to see if its from the front or the back of the motor... front, prolly injectors... back, prolly just cam and rocker noise. Unless you got a serious knock knock knock and some high miles, i wouldnt sweat it.

its the timing belt. I had the same problem but dont go like i did and not replace it. Trust me the injectors are hardly noticable with the hood shut. And your motor mounts probably need to be replaced just like everyones old neons. Trust me if it sounds like a rotating click and u can hear it from inside th car its the belt. Its already damaged so drive easy til get it replaced or look at remachining your head like i had to do whe n i bent 16-valves when the belt broke.
