could be wrong but i thought the 2.0 was standard and the h/o was from thr r/t models... thing is im not sure if it is a dohc or not. but i think it was bored slightly biggre then the reg 2.0

The H/O or Magnum engine is the R/T engine and it had a better intake and exhaust and hotter cam. The HP difference was 132 HP at the crank for the ES and SE models and the R/T has 150 HP at the crank.

Yes you can use the head on a standard 2.0...and to the origianl question, no the H.O will not hold more power, because it uses the same connecting rods and pistons.
Oh and the tranny has much different ratios...R/T's and ACR's have the wonderful 3.94's while the standard has the craptastic 3.55's...

HP is not what breaks things inside the motor, torque is the force that breaks rods and shoots pistons through your block. The stock bottom end can take 250wtq before you start breaking rods and such...
