Gas mileage update, what are you getting?
its always good to keep your car maintained...though i dont and it now has 144,000 miles on it...though still gets good milage
my wife and i deliver newspapers at nite, then come home and sleep, then get up and deliver for a different newspaper....so i do alot of driving...my wife drives almost 300 miles a day for work......none of this milage includes goin anywhere...this is just goin to work and comming home and parking the car
we spend about $1500.00 a month just on gas....so im glad the prices went down

I've beengetting between 23-26 mpg in my '05 Neon SXT w/auto in mixed driving but mostly in town. Honestly, I was fairly dissapointed. I figured I'd get quite a bit better than my old '94 Tempo. Last trip in that car was a trip to Myrtle Beach from Ohio inthis past June. I hit about 28 mpg, but the ol'beast has 178k on it.And she still runs strong with no leaking or oil burning.
Well I finally got it out for some mostly highway driving and after I refilled and calculated the mileage, I hit 36 mpg. I like that a lot better. And that was driving anyhwhere from 45-75 mph due to construction in some areas and a bit of speeding in others. I can handle the lower mileage betternow that I know what this car is capable of for upcoming vacations.

I've got a 2001 Neon ES with a 5spd MTX and no mods. I've had it since june and so far i haven't dropped below 30MPG. My average between city and highway is probably 33 or 34, i had 37 when i filled up last night. I just use regular 87 octane and non synthetic oil, but i do drive pretty moderately, i go easy on the gas most of the time.

Ever since I moved to my new apartment I've been driving 100% city driving, and its coming out to about 22mpg...

Welcome to my world...and it's even worst when i'm with my girl. (AC on full blast)
Most of my driving was with the A/C running too. But I'll really give her the test here soon. The wife and I are heading back to Myrtle Beach in 3 weeks. That will definitely give a good gauge on the potential MPG I can squeeze out of this car.

Older thread, I have over 32,000, run Mobil 1 oil and still get 36-38 average in mixed driving in a rural area.
Runs like a champ, plenty of power. 05 SXT 5 speed.
