help turbocharging an 04 SXT
mainly becuase after all the stuff i would need for my SXT to get an SRT engine swap I could almost buy a used SRT. I need the engine, manual transmission, engine mounting, etc.
it will cost you about 4k-4.5k for a full engine swap. That INCLUDES the tranny and ECU from an SRT. A nice used srt will run you 17-18k. A nice used new gen (like an 04) neon will be around 10k.
10k+4.5K < 18K
plus insurance rates will be more for the SRT.

oh i thought it would be more than that. I guess once you put in labor fees it would get sort of expensive though. I won't be doing anything to it myself, all of my aftermarket work will most likely be done by a professional. Since i have an automatic is it necessary to get a new clutch? I know with a new clutch I could crank up the boost a few more psi but what is the safe limit for a turbo with stock clutch? I was thinking 8-10 psi. Oh and who would I go to to tune the car? Would i need to dyno it?

Very true, Hahn has no warranties expressed or implied if you blow up your engine with their turbo kit, you would be royally screwed. Oh and i also forgot, you will need a new clutch.

Well since i have an automatic tranny i won't need a new clutch, however will i need a new chip/ECU? I don't believe the hahn turbo kit comes with one.

yes insurence is alittle more expensive but..........depending on what state you are in good luck getting a swapped srt engine inspected!!!! i have done my research and i live in NY, a frind of mine swapped a srt in a 01 and could not drive it on the street because it would not pass inspection so that is something else you want to think about when you want to do an engine swap, that is all i am saying.....good luck with the turbo kit, mine will be done in the winter
thats awesome that it will be done in winter. A problem with mine is that the hahn turbo kit is sort of expensive at $4,140 and I only have a part time job since i am still in school. Plus i have to make the monthly payments which are $150. I really don't have much money to save up for the kit. I am hoping to save $200 a month, but even if i do that it will take a year an a half to be able to afford the kit. A friend of mine said I could take out a load and do it but I am not sure i want to do that.
