yo ive seen mad srt4 with their side mirrors painted the same color of the car, i was thinkin of doin that to mine, anyone has done it in silver, i wanna see how it looks like 1st, was it hard? how u do it?

 

Take emry cloth and etch all the plastic then use a good degrease or auto body prep and then mask off the mirror and surrounding areas and shoot it with some paint. It's very straight foward, yet it won't have the polished smoothe look like the body. If you want it to be that shiny and smoothe, you have to cover it in bondo and then smoothe everything down and then prime it and then paint it. As far as getting the paint color, look on the body tag for the paint code.

 

You should be able to spray it with a high-build primer first instead of Bondo, might need a few coats. This should make it just as smooth as the Bondo would.

 

i know my paint code is PS2 as weird as dat sounds, the metallic silver, i guess ill have to buy it at the dealer right so it matches perfect. were all the brands spell correctly or they just look weird, as far as the post above, so mask, a thick primer to smooth it out, the paint and a clear coat, pretty much like i did my interior, str8 anyone got pics of the way it looks, any color?

 

If you want to make your job even simpler it's really easy to take the mirror off, then you don't have to worry about overspray. The inner cover panel just pops off by pulling on it, then there should just be two nuts holding the mirror on. If they're power mirror you just unhook the wires or if it's manual you will have to unhook the control on the driver's side.

 

Revived this thread to ask a side mirrors question...

I saw an ad for some replacement side mirrors... and I did ask the question by e-mail, waitin for reply...
but it advertised the mirrors as replacemnets for 04 and up, but then inside the description, it says "fits 00-03 only"

Is there a difference in the side mirrors between 03 and 04? just wonderin if they will fit my 04 SE

 

They are all be the same from 2000-2003. Most of the time when they say 00-03 the ad just hasnt been updated since 2003 so it doesnt include the newer models.

 

so 2000-2004 are all the same mirrors or not? don't care-2000-2003...just want to know if something listed as 00-03 will fit my 04
