Default STS installation

I feel really retarted right about now, but since i was having difficulties with my car (as you can see from other post) id figuer i install my short shifter but i just ended up getting it wront. At first i thought i might have recived the wrong application short shifter. But i have seen all these short shifters online and they all looks the same as mine, so i figuer that the short shifter is not the problem, but just me. So i was wondering if anybody knew of a place with instructions on how to install the short shifter?? The problem i had was that i see the stock shifter and the two pointy things are pointing opposite directions, but one these short shifters the pointy things in the middle and bottom part both point to the same direction, so i got it on but couldnt get the linkage cables on the shifter because they where pointing the same direction unlike the stock shifter which had them at opposite directions. thanks.

im talking about the two things pointing out horizontaly, which connects to the linkage which the middle one moves it it sideways and the bottom moves it up and down. On the stock shifter, the bottom one points out to the left, while the aftermarket short shifter like this one shown points out to the right, which is the same direction as the middle one, but as i mentioned before, the stock one points out to opposite directions.

I kinda had a simmilar experience with my B&M STS... I had to remove the shifter bushing off the cable that was facing the wrong direction by prying it out with a screwdriver and flip it over then install the cable to the shifter on the inside insted of the outside like the original one was... 20,000 miles later and still no problems..

yeah, it worked. I had to go under the hood and flip the shifter linkage 180 degrees and so it was finally facing the right way when i put my short shifter on. thanks.
