Exhauste any suggestions
Hey guy's i have a 2001 LE and I want to change the exhaust for something a little bigger and better.
i'm thnking of doing the hole thing so from the cat back with a single tail pipe.
I need to change my headers as well and since i'm doing all that i'm wondering if I should change my cat as well
If anyone has any suggestions or just want to put a comment on what they did for there exhaust i would like to here some ideas

On the header a 4-1 if you are looking for more power in the low to mid rpm range or a 4-2-1 if you are looking for the power in the higher rpm range. The ceramic or heat resistance coatings are good they keep more heat in the exhaust not in the engine. The cat back exhaust their are alot out their I hear really good thinks about the borla exhausts they are pricey and the magna flow exhaust systems are suppose to be good too. The think is to get the engine to breath deeper. Do you have a intake or cam on the car? Alot of guys I talk to say they see the best gains when everything is working together, the individual parts show a little gains but together they give you more.

Yes, you will see little from each peice, but together the system will add the most power.
So, individually a CAI will add near nill, but accomponied with a larger TB, a Header, and an exhuast it will make for a much bigger gain.
If you are looking for a decent header... borla used to make one but it was discontinued. Your only bet is a pacesetter if your looking for a short tube street legal header. OBX makes a short tube header as well, but I believe it gets rid of a sensor.
If you are looking for exhuasts, your looking at these for full set ups:
Borla
Magnaflow
SRT-4 stock exhuast.
You can also purchase basic catback mufflers such as:
Pacesetter
Vibrant
The mufflers will free up your exhuast. You wont see a big gain but you opened it up.
After header and exhuast you will see a really nice gain in power. With a good CAI you should see a decent amount of power. After that you should look into TB's and an intake manifold. However, if you are interested in a new camshaft... the installation will benefit every modification to your airflow. It will allow more air into the engine and thusly will take full advantage of your modifications.
Decent cams are sold both on Modern Performance and Howell Automotive. Crane cams are a good investment. Its up to you on how you spend your money. Good Luck
