Default just have a question

If I put on an SRT-4 cat-back on my 03sxt would if hurt my engine since it is 3' pipe instead of the stock 2.5'.

First......your stock piping is 2.25". Second, stock srt exhaust is not 3" either. Its 2.5" I believe. No, 2.5" would not hurt your backpressure. Your car will be loud or so I'm told if you merely bolt up an srt exhaust because the lack of a muffler.

Stock SRT-4 piping is the same 2.25" size as ours...it just has a resonator in the midpipe and no muffler. It will bolt up just fine, many people hae done it...

Meh, I thought it was 2.25 as well. Just sounds kind of weird that it is the same and is turbocharged. If you went with something larger I would go no larger then 2.5" though. Thats what I have, it definitely doesn't help out for torque though.

if you have a turbo you could attatch a large tube to the end and have it work optimumly. Wow, i didnt think srt's ran off the same tubing. learn something new everyday.

No, all 2nd gen Neons except first run 2000 model year (they have 2.0") have 2.25" piping STOCK. The SRT-4's also have 2.25" piping STOCK.

yea hes right because wen i went to get my exhaust done the guy told me to just leave the 'stock' 2.25' piping on and not go bigger because i dont have a turbo and i would lose to much back pressure also because the piping was mandrel bent from the factory and it wasnt worth the money to get the 2.5' piping if it wasnt gonna help. so i just took off the cat and now am putting on a longtube header to replace it all and switched out the dual muffler with a single.

Have fun with the longtube header man! It should take a week or two for Mp to ship them out, but once you get them on you'll notice the difference...just be prepared for the noise change since you wont be running a cat anymore...if its too "raspy" just put a small glasspack into the midpipe to settle things down.
