Tachometer Clusters
Hey yall, as yall may or may not already know, I'm currently driving an 04 SE. The stock cluster on it only has a speedo, gas gauge, and engine heat. The dials are black. I would like to put a tachometer in the thing. Would the cluster from a SXT do the job fairly well? And also I notice that most SXT clusters have a white styling. I there a cluster with a tachometer that is a black styling like the one I already have?
Also, If I do get a used cluster from a junkyard, 'bout how much cash should I bring and exactly how difficult will it be to put in?
Thanks

Its a plug and play cluster so it will work fine. I put one on my neon a few months back, works well. I dont know what to tell you about the color but as far as money goes, i got mine on ebay for around $80. The only problem i could think of would be that your true milage will not be shown, only the milage of the car it was taken off from. Usually people would just recommend getting one that is close enough to your true milage.
I just bought 1 yesterday at a local U-pull it for $17 plus tax..I drive a 2000 ATX without the Tach and its black...and i liked the white 1. Got it out of a car with 15,xxx miles on it..And my car is now 123,xxx I just put down on paper what my original miles were and what the miles were on the new cluster and it works fine. It was very easy to install also..Just popped up the top dash..removed the bezel in front of the cluster..and the 1 underneath the steering so i could get to the 4 screws on the cluster and then i just pulled and replaced it with the new 1..Its plug and play

So I'm assuming that there's no way to reprogram the odometer?

I've heard people say dealers can do it, and then I've also heard that they can't or will not. I would just live with it if I was you, probably not worth the trouble of reprogramming.
