I have the same problem mentioned here. I followed the cable to the steering wheel. If you take the plastic off the column you'll notice a small yellow tab sticking out from under the ignition. If I press this in the shifter will work.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem without removing the safety locks under the console. Or driving around with the plastic off the column like I'm doing.

 

you better hope a cop doesn't think you stole the car, if you ever get pulled over that is.... lol that would not be good...

 

Took someone to lunch today and that was the first thing they asked.

Seriously though, does anyone know how to adjust this or what part I should replace to fix it?
