New Sticky??? (i need everyones input!!)
the only problem i see with that is, that installing say a new TB maybe a 2 for one person who is more mechanically inclined than someone else whomay find that it is more of a 6 out of 10 you know? so maybe we should refine how we should define installation difficulty...? just my thought but otherwise that thread would be great.... and when the hell did you become a moderator?!

But what I'm trying to say is the number really has to do with a large amount of things including time, tools, skill needed, number of people needed, and what potentially you could screw up, not say that any of us would ever do such a thing (sarcasium).
If the numbers need adjusting we will deffinatly to it and hearing your imput is what we need, I do see the difficulty scale being tweeked alot but this is Brand new so give it some time and it will work out. I think it will also probably end up having 1/2 numbers to. ex. 6.5
Now the second thing I wanted to respond to was this: blocks885
All of these ideas are great and I really think it will help some of the beginners. I still consider myself one but getting to a novice. Anyways, definitely giving people a chance is number 1 and giving them as much information as possible will be great. I mean the biggest thing is making sure you do the install right, anyone can purchase anything but installing it is a different story. That's what I look to the forum for, help on installing if I need it cuz you guys have done it before.
I really like the ideas floating around here, this is the kind of input I was looking for. I do plan on adding a brief installation review and the idea about creating seperate threads for a highly detailed install is a good idea, but like with the sticky, it will take time and help from some of the more experienced members (and yes, the normal threads can be locked).
As for the difficulty level, I am by no means an expet mechanic, and with this first basic scale I'm trying to be objective as possible...take the cam review for example. I have done a few cam installs on Neons and som OHC V8's and to me it would be around a 4-5, however, the average user on here who will be reading this may not be so inclined or experienced which i realise, which is why i rated the difficulty at 8. The scale will need some tweeking, some fine tuning, and maybe thre different scales (As in Novice 1-10, Intermediate 1-10, Expert 1-10...if anyone has seen the DIY show "Tricked Out" you know what I'm talking about).
So at the moment this sticky will be comprised of the basic review of the mods, and soon I will begin adding install instructions and basic pictures of each component alng with more part overviews. Eventually I will try and make the detailed instructions but that will take time...I will also delete the original thread when I and a few others feel the new sticky has all the information that the old sticky had.
Keep the comments and ideas coming!!
(Oh and Eric, I just stopped by to check the progrss on this thread I'm not ignoring you
and I'll answer your PM later tonight when i get home)

Alright, so, to keep this thread up, instead of getting lost in the sea of threads, I am going to post up a throttle body installation review, as someone disagreed with my beginner 2 rating
It might not be time... but I might as well get this one out of the way.
First of all you can or dont have to disconnect the negative battery connector.
1.) Disconnect the clamps on both sides of the throttle body. One is to the intake manifold, and the other to the intake.
2.) Unbolt the hanger arms attatched to the throttle body. One is attatched on the front, the other to the battery tray. They simply unbolt with no unnecassary disconnections.
3.) Disconnect the MAP sensor on top of the throttle body. Your new one comes with hex screws so you dont have to worry if you have bad heads on the screws. As well remove the mechanicle lines and all peices attatched to the throttle body.
4.) Install is the reverse of taking it off.
I had some problems with the rubber connecting peices not fitting. I used a little hand soap to grease the inside slightly of the rubber parts so the slid on. Using the clamps to tighten them on as tight as possible. I let it sit for a while before turning the car over, listening for anything peculiar.
OPTIONAL and TIME CONSUMING
The throttle body comes with no bracing at all. When I installed mine I didn't feel happy with it simply bouncing around in my engine bay!
I when down to Autozone and picked up a 3" exhaust gasket with three wholes. I got home and measured the distance from the FRONT original mount, that kept the stock throttle body in place, to a whole that was pre-drilled into my 60mm throttle body. I cut the exhaust gasket leaving 2 wholes, matching it up I smoothed out the cut and made sure it fit. I then proceded to thread the whole with a similar sized screw thread. So, i then put a washer on both sides of the cut exhaust gasket and attatched the throttle body. This SOLVED the problem of no support!!!
PM me if you have questions about this....

Jeff, I added your install to the TB overview. I'll try and work on this a little more over the week (but school is starting so i'm a little busy this week)...I'm looking in to getting a domain so we can host larger write-ups and installs (with pictures if possible) and just link them in that thread like tooslow suggested.
