RPM GUAGE
If you get a cluster whether it be srt-4 sxt or r/t with the tachometer it will work, there is one universal plug and it's a simple switch, only thing it the mileage will be different on the other gauge cluster and as far as I know and 99.9% of the people on this forum know, there is no way currently of getting it reflashed. Dealership can't do it and customer service through diamler chrysler dosn't know either. So I would still get a cluster off ebay, I got my srt-4 cluster for 60 shipped and it should just bolt up and work. Oh and if your daring you can get so led's for the cluster like me, I got some blue ones just got one less than I should have lol and I'm waiting to put mine in still.
the only problem he might run into is a missing wire for the tach itself..... because if his car has a cluster without an RPM gauge then he might not have the RPM sensor [i dont know what its called], so yea.... that could be one slight problem... what you could also do is buy a small guage and buy yourself a pod for it, usually the gauges either come with or you can buy separatly the sensor that goes to the distributor that you can plug right up and bam there you go a nice new clean looking tach that will get some looks.... just my thought
there have more than a couple posts about this.... here's one of mine. my swap work plug and play easy.
I think what may be throwing some people is most all the posts before were about 03-05 Neons...

just to make sure we are telling him right, this plug and play swap works for the older 2000 Neon too?
Did they even have the SXT back in 2000?.. or what did they call the next step up from the ES or SE model?...did it have a tach?
