or a bad fuel pump... that could also be the problem, or your injectors could be clogged or it might just mean you need a tune up....

wait a minute... did you wreck your car before this happened, and have you gotten the damage fixed since the wreck? Or are you talking about today?

um my car was wrecked in like 2004 and we just got it fixed like 3 months ago but on the cai i took the accordian lookin rubber thing of then put it back on and went to drive it and it was doing that thing i described then i got a new intake which replaced the rubber accordian lookin thing it ran good then this morning it died on me and i had to walk to skool haha but after like 4 hours u try to turn it over a couple times and give gas then it will run normal but after 10 mins of driving it will die i suspect something wrong with my maf or cai since it started when i took that peice on anyone else have ideas i dont have a car it did throw a code um rich fuel mixture somerthin with air to fuel mix ratio but i reset the comp an it went of and hasnt come on since plus its only got 19000 miles but has been sitting for a while but we bought it wrecked and it has actually done this a couple times it all started when i took the peice of the maf.

hmm well I could suggest the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor), which mountson the side of the throttle body, and tells the computer how much fuel to mix depending on how far the butterfly is opened (depending on how much gas you're trying to give it). If this is not functioning it could cause some serious problems through the RPM range. If it's unplugged or there's a break in a wire, it could lean your motor out and give it only enough gas at any RPM as if your car was idling... this could cause detonation and destroy your motor very fast. Or, if it is shorted it could give a WOT signal (Wide-Open-Throttle) and shove a full-throttle fuel mixture into the air even if the car is idling. Either way, it could really mess with your engine. Your problem could be a lot of things but you might want to look there first.
