Aint nuthin wrong with a sound system in your neon. There's removable components inside the cars that allow you to put one in if you wanted to...

its one thing to buy the system and have someone install it. But if you do that, you dont really need the system.

I bought mine. but I decided to use up a weekend putting it in (as good as any dealer if not better) and i felt a sense of relief when I finished. Plus they sound really good.

I chose to buy products from the Dual company.

I got a 580w 2/1 channel amp and two 12" in the trunk. Did it all myself and it looks and sounds great. (it looks great cuz you wouldnt know I had a system unless you either heard it or I told you.)

If you cant wire it up youself, you dont need one.

The Alpine speakers you have picked out will fit perfectly and actually look really nice and I bet they will have really good sound. As to your question I referred to the Q&A page on Crutchfield.com:

Q: What is the difference between a 2-way and a 3-way speaker?

A: A 2-way speaker's crossover splits the frequency band into two ranges: bass frequencies go to the woofer, and treble frequencies go to the tweeter. In a 3-way system, the frequency band is divided into three ranges. The middle frequencies are sent to a third driver commonly referred to as the midrange.

Hope that helps.

A two way is better if you are looking for a better sound and performance, but the 3 gets higher frequencies. So basically if you want a nice sounding system go with the 2 way. The 3 way is more for show and not for the performance you will be expecting out of your Alpine's.

Dual is bad!!!! There products suck, like I've said before I've seen two decks smoke as soon as they were installed. You're better off bying a non-Dual Wal-mart system.
