Problems with my car, please help!
Okay, first of all, this is my first post on DodgeForum. I'm Necole and from Memphis, TN.
Anyway, I have a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT that I'm having problems with. It's got 45,000 miles on it and this is the first problem I've ever had.
When I'm idling, say, sitting at a red light, it sputters and acts like it's going to die. It just jerks... and it's really hesitant to accelerate, but once it starts going, it's fine. I have absolutley no idea where to even start because I don't know one thing about cars other than to change the oil every 3,000 miles.
I have asked several people and I've gotten everything from tune up, to O2 sensor and fuel filter. Needless to say, I'm confused.
Anyone think they can shed a little light on the situation for me??

Sounds to me try drygas first. If you did get some contaminated fuel with water it should take care of it. I f it is dirt in the fuel you will need to run all the gas out and change the fuel filter. You'll want a reputable shop to do that because the gas tank has to come off.

if its only at a idle you could try replacing your idle position sensor...after that the map sensor....thats of course if the new plugs and wires didnt work...i could go with the fuel problem as well...thats really something people need to see in person to diagnose...use some fuel treatment and plugs and wires for a start sounds good to me...
