hi everyone i'm new here and i'm having a problem with my 02 neon, when I stop the rpm go just above 500 and the car starts vibrating a lot, i put it Nuetral and the rpm go up a little and the vibration dissappears, this happens when the transsmision is on Drive only and the AC is off, when I turn it on theres no vibration. Someone having this problem?

check your motor mounts. you most likely need some new ones

 

my car does the same goes down to just above 500 rpm is it supposed to?

 

welcome to the club. i mean the unexplainable vibration club. mine does that and has been for a while and i still cant figure out what the problem is.

 

Should be a tad higher I would think.

 

same problem here i ve been reading around the forums, and most people say its motor mounts but im still unsure. It happens alot to me and twice i could hear the car bog down like it was going to die

 

My 02 vibrates like hell. I think I need a wheel alignment because my hand really shakes when i'm on the high way.

 

I had my motor mounts replaced and my engine still vibrates as well. Dont really know what the problem is, but alot of people have it.

 

its normal. its just that when the rpms go down so low it shakes. its kinda like when a car stalls out it shakes like that before stalling. its normal

 

Hey yeh I have a 2001 and she doesn't shake so much.. but when I am excelerating sometimes I here this friggin rattle almost like there is a peice loose and is clanking around.. I am about annoyed anough with it to take it to visit my friend whos a mechanic.. any ideas.. I dont think it is motor mounts because my engin is shaking you know its just a vibration noise on the passangers side under the hood somewhere..
