Yeah I looked at those a while ago they are crap. The turbonator is just as bad in my opinion. Also watch out for something that supposedly helps make hp gains for your CAI, it actually lessens hp.

Hey guys new to the site here. I work for BMW/MINI as a tech. As we all know the mini is some what related to the sohc neon. The engines are very simalar. The is rumor through out the dealer that the intake manifold, supercharger, and intercooler should be a direct bolt. Have you guys heard of anything like this.

This weekend and next week i have to replace a blown cooper S engine. i do some test fit then and let you guys know. I hope it works!

Yeah this has been discussed before, and the MINI Cooper setup wont work on the Neon...the 1.6 intake manifold is no where near a direct fit to a 2.0 head...the heads cant be swapped either because the 1.6 uses a chain timing belt while we use a belt...yes, the engines are similar and considered "sister" models to each other...it could bemade to work, but again, you looking at custom fabbing still.

 

^^^I wonder if the port holes like up though. You could alwayts drill and tap new holes to mount the intake manifold.

 

a MIMI supercharger set-up would be pretty cool, but I don't know f it's worth the hassel...

any word on the turbo kit from PT Performance? I though it was supposed to be out in January 0f 2007 but I haven't seen it yet.

 

Has some one actually line the two up or tryed to fit the manifold on the neon?

 

you meaning drilling and doing it custom or putting it directly on? We are pretty sure that it will not bolt directly on but I don't know if anyone has tryed drilling holes or not. 03neonRT usually knows what he is talking about (thats why we call him "Neon God") and he says you will need custom fabbing, so most likely it will.

 

The ports are not the same size or shae at all...you would need a big thick adaptor plate like we use for the SRT-4 exhaust manifold...
