Tire Brands
Now my dad is probably gonna get the same tires for the S-10 in a different size: 235/75/15. I wonder how cool these tires will look on both the 4Runner and S-10, and if they live up to the LTX M/S.
Now the Wrangler TDs on PurplDodge havent done that bad. I just hate looking at them!!! They look so bald but still have some treads left. I have 20,000 miles on them now and probably could get another 15,000 out of them. What can I say though? They are an Off-Road tire that was $115 a piece. Off-road (loose dirt, damp yards, gravel) could be better, I have to switch to 4WD in my yard! I'm torn between Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmours and Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo tires next. But one thing is for sure! Off-Road 17'' wheels and 285/70/16 size!
I put those Goodyear Fortera's on my wifes Jeep Liberty, and I have to say I am very impressed with them. Far superior to the Goodyears that came on it from the factory. I have been disappointed by goodyears time and time again in the past, but these have been great so far. I wouldn't put them on my Ram, but on her small SUV, they are perfect. They do great in snow and ice, wet, and are quiet on the highway. They balanced perfectly. Just remember, they are directional, so be careful how you rotate them.
On my truck, I run Toyo Open Country M/T's right now. They are awesome in my opinion. About the best mud tire I have ever used (I'm a huge BFG A/T fan too). My only complaint about them is the price. I had to pay about $280 each. Also, they are heavy, weighing in at close to 90lbs each. OTher then that, they are absolutly awesome in deep snow, and for a mud tire they do really well on ice too. I drive them all winter with confidence. In the mud, the pull like mule and clean out great. They are quiet on the highway for a mud tire, and are very stoutly built (mine are load range E). They seem to be wearing well too. I don't drive my truck as much as I used to, but I imagine they will last me close to 50k miles when all is said and done. Great for a softer compound tire. I recommend them for sure.

Probably about 10k is all, if that. I put them on at the tail end of last winter (march or april of this year) when she started comlaining about how bad the stock tires where starting to feel on the snow and ice. It's an '04, and we had about 45k on the stock tires.
Got the Fortera TripleTreads on the 4Runner today. First impressions were good, they look mean! They ride better than the Bridgestone Dueler H/T D840s that came from the factory with, although the tire noise was a little louder. But we went from a conservative tire tread to a more aggressive one.

Yeah, same kind of mean tires are going on the S-10!!!

i'll jump in here for kicks,
my summer tires are Dean tire, stingers, 275/60r15s, low and fat
plenty of grip, dont handle standing water too well but i dont feel too loose either
and so far even with serious negative camber i havnt seen any abnormal wear
winter tires are Dean tire wintercat XTs,215/75r15s, tall and skinny
havnt spent a ton of time out in hte snow but so far they grip real good compared to my old mudders (31x10.5), even with no weight in the bed, spent some time out playing the other night and was actually surprised with their ability to move the truck even when they're spinning, something my old tires never did

265/75/16 Wild Country Sport Radial H/T...brand new on truck when i bought it. Have performed well in the snow and mud, but hav to be in 4x4. 2wd doesnt have great traction (open 4.10s)
im going back to Medalist Mud Kings. had those on my Nissan 4x4, and even when they got bald, they still ripped through the mud/snow. So im getting a set for my Dodge in a few weeks, once taxes come.

265/75-16 Hercules Terra Tracs. I thought they were an off brand at first, but turns out Hercules is a good brand up here. A lot of ranchers and farmers up here use their tires. I was doubtful, but they've proven themselves in the snow pretty well.

For my next set (will be at least a few thousand more miles), I will either be hitting up a larger size (285/75-16) Hercules Terra Tracs, or a larger size in Laramie's Hankooks. Might go with a different brand to, not ruling out anything entirely (yet), depends on when these go, and the price tags involved.
